What is a mortgage amortization schedule?

An amortization schedule shows how each monthly payment splits between principal and interest. Early payments are mostly interest; later payments chip away more principal. Searching amortization calculator or mortgage amortization table is common when borrowers want transparency.

Tools N Go displays the schedule in the browser and lets you export CSV for Excel or Google Sheets.

Using extra payments in the schedule

Even a modest extra principal payment can shave years off a 30-year loan. The calculator will recalculate the schedule when you add a monthly extra amount so you can see new payoff timing and interest saved.
