Free PDF Tools for Students: Submit Assignments Without Signup

Free PDF tools for students on Tools N Go

If you have ever tried to upload homework at 11:45 p.m., you already know the pain: the portal wants one PDF, your photos are separate JPGs, and the file is too big. You do not need a paid Adobe plan or another random signup. Tools N Go runs in your browser, free, with no account and no subscription.

This guide is for students in the U.S. (and anyone with a similar school portal). We focus on three jobs that come up every semester.

What you will need

  • A phone or laptop with Chrome, Safari, or Edge
  • Your photos or PDF pages
  • Two minutes and a stable internet connection for the first visit

Step 1: Turn phone photos into one PDF

Many teachers want a single file, not five camera rolls.

  1. Open our JPG to PDF converter.
  2. Tap or click to add every page image (hold Ctrl or Shift on a laptop to select multiple files).
  3. Drag thumbnails if the order is wrong.
  4. Download the combined PDF and name it something clear, like Smith_Essay_Final.pdf.

Everything stays on your device while the file is built. That is faster and more private than uploading scans to a random app store tool.

Step 2: Merge PDFs when the portal allows only one upload

Maybe you typed page one in Word, scanned a signature page, and exported another section as PDF.

  1. Go to Merge PDF.
  2. Add all PDFs in the order you want them to appear.
  3. Download one merged file and upload it to your school site.

Step 3: Shrink the file when you see “upload failed”

Portals often cap uploads at 5–25 MB.

  1. Open the PDF compressor.
  2. Start with Medium compression and check the new size shown on screen.
  3. If it is still too large, try High before you delete content.

Need a clean cutout for a slide? Try the free background remover. For iPhone photos that will not open on a Windows lab PC, use HEIC to JPG.

Why we built it this way

Tools N Go already offers 25+ free tools, and we are adding 25+ more over time. Every page is meant for real life: assignments, side jobs, and small business tasks. You should not create an account just to merge two PDFs.
